WeehawkenBy ED MILLS / STAFF WRITER | Herald News

WOOD-RIDGE – Sophie and Samantha Chong are a pair of the best two-way players in Hudson County. The fraternal twins again dominated on the diamond for Weehawken on Monday.

The Indians, aided by the Chong sisters and several key contributions from their teammates, stormed past Wood-Ridge, 13-3, in five innings in the NJIC Meadowlands Division at Donna Ricker Field.

Sophie Chong went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, in addition to throwing a six-hitter. Samantha Chong had an RBI, got on base twice and did a superb job of calling the game behind the plate.

“I think we’re starting to get into a good grove now and play well on a consistent basis,” said junior right-hander Sophie Chong, who struck out five and walked none.

“Definitely, we’re a program that is on the rise.”
