Softball

* Senior CF Zoe Bender led Glen Rock to a 3-1 week. Bender hit .800, with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, six walks and an .875 on-base percentage. She also was successful on all nine of her stolen-base attempts.

* Waldwick improved to 13-3 after winning all five of its games last week. Keep an eye on freshman P Ashley Buschgans, who allowed just two earned runs in 23 innings while striking out 12. She went 11-for-17 at the plate (.647), with a double, home run, seven runs and nine RBI.

* Emerson went 3-1 to improve to 11-5. Junior 3B Michelle Durocher had a big game Wednesday against Cresskill, going 3-for-4 with a triple, single and grand slam and seven RBI.

* Ridgefield sophomore P Jackie Lara had a big game against Queen of Peace on Friday, when she struck out 12 to pick up the win. She also went 3-for-4, with a solo home run and triple.

* Rutherford picked up four more wins last week, and outscored opponents, 39-0, during that stretch.

* Senior C Marissa Piscal hit a game-winning, two-run double to lead North Arlington to an 11-10 win over Becton on Friday. The Vikings picked up two wins last week to improve to 7-4.

* Hasbrouck Heights senior OF Sami Partyka recorded her 100th hit in a win over St. Mary on Wednesday. She went 3-for-3 with three runs and four stolen bases.

* Midland Park went 3-1 last week to go to 10-4. Sophomore P Leah Mercadante is hitting .587 with six doubles, three triples, four home runs and 30 RBI. Senior OF Julie Carey recorded her 100th hit Friday in a win against Ridgefield Park.
