* Emerson had a big week, thanks in large part to senior CF Jon Juri. He helped the Cavos to four straight wins by batting .727 (8-for-11). He hit a home run, had eight RBI, including the 100th of his career, scored seven runs and stole two bases.
* The three-hit, nine-strikeout, complete-game effort Hawthorne senior right-hander David Mascis produced in a 2-1 victory over Pompton Lakes improved his record to 3-2. Mascis lowered his ERA to 2.59 and increased his strikeout total to 28 in 27 innings.
* North Arlington (8-7) is over .500 after a 3-1 week powered by senior P/UT Joel DaSilva. He picked up a win and hit .500 (8-for-16), including two homers, two triples and a double and knocked in 16 runs.
* Senior P/SS Donovan Arroyo has been a bright spot for Queen of Peace. He struck out 14 in a win against Lincoln. Arroyo hit .500 (7-for-14) and had six RBI in four games last week.
* Saddle Brook continues to get solid offensive production from a group that includes senior CF/P Mike Cerbo (.444, 20 hits, 11 RBI in 14 games), junior SS Steve Kalinowski (.400, 15 runs, 11 RBI) and junior 3B/P Nick Maricich (.361, 11 RBI).
* Wood-Ridge senior Joe Batcho has emerged as one of North Jersey’s most reliable pitchers. He won two games last week to improve to 5-0, and lowered his ERA to 1.91. He also picked up his 100th career hit and has 17 RBI.
