GIRLS:

Garfield has won five straight games to improve to 7-4. Senior F Anira Calamia has averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds during the winning streak, while sophomore F Mirza Gomez has averaged 10 points and eight rebounds.

Lodi senior F Lila Reginald racked up 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Rams past Elmwood Park on Thursday, while sophomore G Aliyah Williams added 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Pompton Lakes has won three of its last four games, getting consistent production from Casey Ramirez. The senior G averaged 17.7 points in the Cardinals’ three games last week.

BOYS:

Cresskill (7-3) has elevated its game this month and stretched its winning streak to five with Thursday’s 52-50 win over Bogota. Junior F Luka Radovich is averaging 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior G Harrison Lucibello averages 9.5 points and four assists. Senior G Darren Horowitz “has been playing great defense,” coach Mike Doto said, “drawing the opponent’s best player and holding him in check,” and he scored the game-winning basketball against Bogota.

North Arlington coach Rich Corsetto earned his 300th career high school victory with last Tuesday’s 68-54 win over Saddle Brook. Corsetto, 70, was born in Paterson, resides in Wayne and has been coaching high school or college hoops for 37 seasons. Over 20 seasons as a college coach, including at Passaic County Community, he won 435 games.

Queen of Peace (5-6) has seen several players step up, coach Branan Burde said, since standout freshman C Cliff Omuruyi went down with a season-ending fractured tibia. Rajah Cameron is averaging 12 points and fellow sophomore G Ahmaz Athias averages 11. Sophomore F Isa Brown is averaging six rebounds, while sophomore G Ibn Grimsley is handing out four assists per game.
