NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE

Player’s of the Week

Field Player: Brandon Roldon, Saddle Brook, Sr.

Roldon struck for three goals and three assists in Saddle Brook’s 8-0 win over St. Marth (Ruth.) this week. He has eight goals and four assists on the season.

Goalkeeper: Daniel Gonzalez, Garfield, Sr.

Gonzalez pushed his shutout streak to four games this week with a six-save effort in a 1-0 win over Manchester Regional before he turned away 12 shots in a 2-1 loss to unbeaten Lyndhurst.

Offensive player of the week: Anna Memija, Saddle Brook, Sr.

It’s a shortened season, but that isn’t slowing down Memija. The senior has 17 goals already and just put up back-to-back hat tricks in wins over Lodi Immaculate and Wood-Ridge. Saddle Brook is off to an 8-0 start led by the play of Memija, who also plays overseas and is a member of the Albanian National Team.

Defensive player of the week: Gabi Jimenez, Rutherford, Jr.

The junior came up with a monster performance against Lyndurst, making 15 saves in a scoreless tie. Lyndhurst had won every game it played this season until Rutherford battled for 100 minutes to stay even in a draw despite being outshot, 15-2.
