Harrison has ascended to the No. 1 spot in The Record boys volleyball Top 5 for the first time, following a dominant two-week stretch. One week after sweeping a trio of New Jersey’s top teams at the April 16 Fair Lawn Quad, the Blue Tide mixed it up with some of the best in the nation in Saturday’s Rhody Invitational.
In pool play, Harrison finished 8-0 with wins over teams from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. In the elimination round, it topped Westfield (Mass.), 25-14, and No. 2-ranked Wayne Valley, 25-23. The latter avenged the team’s 25-20 loss to the Indians in the Verde/McNeill Tournament title match April 2.
