NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Gillian Luberoff, Midland Park, Sr.
Midland Park is on a three-game winning streak and Luberoff is leading the way. The senior post player has scored double-digit points in all of those wins and just put up a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds vs. Emerson Boro. That performance came a few nights after Luberoff stood out with 20 points and nine rebounds against Waldwick. Midland Park is hoping to win a sectional title in 2020 and Luberoff will be this squad’s go-to player.
Asim Jones, Manchester Regional, So., G
Manchester Regional has rattled off six straight wins and Jones has been front-and-center for the success. Last week, he hit nine 3-pointers and finished with 39 points in a 62-57 win over Garfield and added 18 points in a 52-36 win over Hawthorne to push Manchester’s record to 8-3. The sophomore point guard is averaging 19.3 points per game.
