Male Athlete of the Week

David Kris

Sport: Baseball.

Class: Junior. Age: 17

Accomplishment: As a pitcher, Kruis threw two shutouts last week, striking out 11 and allowing 10 singles and two walks in 12 innings combined. Defensively as a right fielder, he threw out the potential go-ahead run at home plate in a 3-3 tie game in the bottom of the fourth inning against Dwight-Englewood in a game that Midland Park eventually won, 6-4, in a five-inning rain-shortened contest. Offensively, he reached base in eight out of 11 plate appearances during the week.
