    Amanda Ulrich, Secaucus, senior: She remains on pace to reach 2,000 points and is 123 away from tying the program’s all-time scoring record. Through seven games, she averaged 23.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game.

    In case you missed it…

    * Eastern Christian was on both ends of the comeback spectrum last week. On Thursday, Madison Wynbeek hit a pair of free throws with 5.2 seconds remaining to cap a 15-5 run that lifted the Eagles past Manchester, 40-39.

    *On Saturday, Park Ridge trailed Eastern Christian by two at halftime but used an 11-4 fourth-quarter run to prevail, 44-34. Lexi Vonderlieth had a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) for the Owls.

    * Sophomore Alyssa Cogdell tallied a season-high 16 points and seven steals off the bench in Mary Help’s 54-39 win at Hawthorne Christian on Friday. Blue Jays leading scorer Natalie DeCindio added 17 points and five blocks.

    *Hawthorne Christian nonetheless posted its highest point total of the season behind Mahwah transfer Jaidyn Comer, who has helped stabilize the point guard position. Senior Lydia Jackson led the Defenders with 13 points and 22 rebounds.

Glen Rock’s streak continues

Senior swingman Zachary Golin’s foul shooting played a key role in Glen Rock (6-1) extending its victory streak to five with Saturday’s 61-48 victory over Northern Valley at Demarest. Golin shot 11-for-12 from the foul line and scored a game-high 21 to elevate his scoring average to 13.6 per game.

Wood-Ridge an early-season surprise

Wood-Ridge (5-1) is atop the NJIC Meadowlands Division despite its youth. Junior Ryan Sarver leads the Blue Devils in scoring at 18.8 points, followed by senior Ryan Connelly (11.5), sophomore Moshe Wilson (8.2), junior Liam Winslow (7.8) and sophomore Stephen Crandall (7.3). Wilson had a triple-double against Lodi: 18 points, 12 steals and 10 assists.
