Cresskill’s Chikaya Sato(Scott Faytok | For NJ Advance Media)

SINGLES: Chikaya Sato, Cresskill, Sr.

ALL-STATE FIRST TEAM

Sato was upset in the quarterfinals of the state singles tournament, but that doesn’t take away his stellar season, which saw him win a third Bergen County Tournament first singles title. Those long two hour trips from up north to Mercer County Park can take a toll on you. Sato had just one loss on the year, which was in three sets, and was the No. 1 seed in the state singles bracket. He made the final in 2018.
