Rising star at Pompton Lakes

Senior Ramone Hernandez hasn’t lost a match this season, which is remarkable considering that this is only his second year of wrestling. Hernandez is a three-sport athlete at Pompton Lakes (soccer and spring track), and he’s off to a 15-0 start at 182 pounds. He earned another five wins last week and even beat Bergen County champion Tommy Chiellini of Pascack Valley to start the winter. The Cardinals have gotten outstanding production throughout the upper weights with Frankie Negrini (14-1) and Remy Brancato (13-2) also rolling at 195 and 220 pounds.
