After placing third at the indoor Meet of Champions in the pole vault this past winter, big things were expected from Andrew Accardi of Pompton Lakes this past spring.
He delivered with another great season over the bar.
A model of consistency, Accardi, a senior, won the NJIC title by making 13-7, captured the Passaic County title by making 14-0, repeated as North Jersey, Sec. 1 Group 1 champion (13-6), made 13-6 to win the state Group 1 title, and cleared 14-0 when he finished third at the Meet of Champions
