HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ  – With his 23 points against Lodi on Sunday, Anthony Palmer became the 18th member of the Hasbrouck Heights 1000 point club.  It is the seventh time in eight years that someone has reached the 1000 point plateau.

Palmer becomes the 11th member of the boys team to break 1000 points, and was a sophomore, when Niko Regus, the last player from either team to break 1000 points, joined the club.

“It feels good,” Palmer stated after the game, while admitting that he did feel a little pressure. “Definitely.  But I knew if I kept playing my game like I have been all year, it would come.”

“It is a great accomplishment for a great player, ” said Hasbrouck Heights Head Coach Mike Cebulla.  “Ant dedicated himself to this game, and it is great to see his hard work pay off from an individual and team aspect thus far this year.

The game was stopped as Palmer sank a three-pointer in the third period to give the Aviators the lead.  A presentation of a special keepsake basketball and pictures with his family were taken before the game resumed.
