NORTH 2 ,GROUP 2

Lyndhurst 2, Madison 0: Senior right-hander Nic DiTomasso tossed a four-hitter Thursday to lead 11th-seeded Lyndhurst to a 2-0 win at third-seeded Madison in the North 2, Group 2 baseball quarterfinals.

DiTomasso struck out two and walked one. He earned his eighth win of the season, tying Ramsey’s Thomas Feehan, Wood-Ridge’s John Batcho and Waldwick’s John Apgar for the most in North Jersey.

The Golden Bears took a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run single up the middle by junior first baseman Ryan Donohue. He had two of Lyndhurst’s six hits.

NORTH 1, GROUP 1

CRESSKILL 2, VERONA 1 (at Verona): Freshman Luke TenCate knocked home the deciding run in his first varsity game, lifting the 10th-seeded Cougars past the No. 2 Hillbillies.

Junior right-hander Ryan King struck out seven in six innings to earn the win, and added three hits and an RBI. Senior shortstop Trevor Romeo also had two hits for Cresskill.

WALDWICK 12, NORTH WARREN 1 (at Waldwick): John Apgar allowed one run in five innings to pick up his eighth win of the season for the third-seeded Warriors.

Sophomore first baseman Spencer McNamara had two home runs and five RBI, giving him a North Jersey-leading 41.

WOOD-RIDGE 9, HASBROUCK HEIGHTS 4 (at Wood-Ridge): Joe Batcho struck out nine in five innings and Tommy Luizzi had four hits to pace the fourth-seeded Blue Devils.

Luizzi had two doubles and an RBI single. Joe Sartori added two hits, including an RBI triple.

NORTH 2, GROUP 1

SECAUCUS 12, TECHNOLOGY 0 (at Newark): Senior Jarrett Lee went 2-for-4 and drove home three runs for the 11th-seeded Patriots, who were powered by junior right-hander Ian Fox’s one-hit shutout.

Junior Sergio Castillo went 4-for-4, including two doubles and a triple, and drove in a run for Secaucus during its road win against the third-seed.

NORTH 2, GROUP 2

RUTHERFORD 9, LODI 8 (at Lodi): The Bulldogs scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to survive.
