Tom Curry Jr. has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Secaucus, after spending the previous three seasons leading Indian Hills.
Curry, 32, shifted from Bergen County to Hudson County because he has worked in Secaucus the past several years as an elementary school physical education teacher.
“I hate to see Indian Hills go,” Curry said Tuesday night, “but at the same time it’s a good move for me logistically.”
Curry said he was approved by the Secaucus board of education in late July. He replaces Alex Kuchar, who in his one season guided the Patriots to a 7-16 record. Curry also is the Park Ridge head football coach and junior varsity baseball coach.
