North Jersey Top 25 boys basketball rankings as county tournaments roll on

Bergen Catholic continues to roll through the Bergen County Jamboree and remains No. 1 in the North Jersey Top 25 boys basketball rankings.

The defending champion and top-seeded Crusaders (20-3) won the last of the four Jamboree quarterfinals on Feb. 8 at FDU’s Bogota Savings Bank Center, 77-39, over Northern Highlands.

Tenafly (19-0) remains ranked No. 2, St. Mary (20-3) is No. 3 and Teaneck (17-3) is No. 4 after the trio also registered quarterfinal wins to earn a return trip to FDU for the Feb. 15 semifinals of the Jamboree.

Meanwhile, St. Mary is seeded No. 1 and Lyndhurst No. 2 in the NJIC six-team playoff championship that features the six division champions.

Fourth-seeded Secaucus hosts No. 5 seed Elmwood Park on Feb. 9, with the winner playing Feb. 12 at St. Mary. Third-seeded Cresskill hosts No. 6 seed North Arlington on Feb. 9, with the winner playing Feb. 12 at Lyndhurst. The championship is Feb. 18 at Paterson Charter.

Cresskill senior Luke Kopczynski surpassed 1,000 career points. He scored 18, including his 1,000 point, Feb. 2 in a 63-44 victory over Waldwick.
