NJIC division champions

Saddle River Day, Hawthorne and Dwight-Englewood clinched division titles to book a trip to the four-team NJIC Championship. Saddle River Day was first to capture a crown, winning the Patriot Division. Last week, Hawthorne claimed the Colonial title and Dwight-Englewood secured the Liberty crown. Paterson Charter will clinch the Meadowlands with a win or with a Wood-Ridge loss. The NJIC semifinals are Feb. 18 at Secaucus and the final is Feb. 22 at Becton.

Points of interest in the NJIC

►Emerson junior Bryan Atkinson was fouled shooting a three-pointer with three seconds left and made all three free throws in Thursday’s 55-54 victory over Bogota. ►Dwight-Englewood senior Jordan McKoy had 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in last Tuesday’s 92-40 win over Butler, and he had 22 points, 15 rebounds and five steals in an 80-48 win Thursday over New Milford that clinched the NJIC Liberty Division title.►Leonia (10-11) reaching the Bergen Invitational Tournament semifinals with Saturday’s 41-38 win over Pascack Valley is a shocker., with junior Tony Whiteman leading a balanced attack with 13 points. And it’s the first time in seven years the program has won 10 games, coach Steve Herget said.
