NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE
Players of the Week
Field player: Dylan Tenn, Rutherford
Tenn scored arguably the goal of his career for John Randazzo’s squad when he netted the overtime game winner against reigning Group 1 finalists and 2021 group 1 champs Waldwick in a 2-1 contest on opening day. It was Rutherford’s first game against Waldwick in well over a decade and one of the biggest wins of the early season goings for any team.
Goalkeeper: Samuel Stanko, Wallington
After recording seven shutouts and 129 saves last year, Stanko opened his 2023 campaign up with another shutout, this one of the 4-save variety, as Wallington picked up a solid 1-0 win over Emerson to give coach Robert Kruk his first career win as well. –
