NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE
WEEK 1 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Anthony DiLascio, Hasbrouck Heights, Sr., RB/LB
It was a stellar start to the season for the Aviators senior, who churned for 286 yards and three scores on just 16 attempts. That’s an absurd 17.9 yards per carry and more than 40 percent of his yards on the ground from all of 2021. DiLascio also added seven tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Hasbrouck Heights won its season opener 42-13, and there will be more where that came from should this production continue for the 5-11, 190-pound bruiser.
Aly Marzouk, Secaucus Sr., RB/DB
Marzouk was the biggest reason why Secaucus ended up defeating Lodi 38-15 to begin the season 1-0. Marzouk had 19 carries for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He also had one catch for 75 yards that went for another score. On the defensive side of the ball, he had eight tackles, two for loss and one fumble recovery.
