When the dust had settled and the final whistle blew, Pompton Lakes emerged victorious with a slim 1-0 road victory, despite furious pressure from Eastern Christian during the latter stages of the second half.

Due to the constant pressure the Pompton Lakes team faced in the second period, Cardinals junior goalie Daniella Lucca was forced to make 11 saves on the night, none more important than a diving one-handed save in the closing minutes to maintain her team’s slim advantage.

Lucca proved to be a brick wall all night, stopping shots when needed, while swallowing up anything in her vicinity, recording her fourth shutout of the season.
