Casey Schick, former Glen Rock High School soccer standout and most recently assistant coach, opened practice for his first season as head coach of the boys team this week.
He said, “I’m definitely excited about taking over the program. I’ve learned a lot from Paul Cusack both as a player and a coach and I’m excited for the season to start.” Schick has been the Glen Rock JV coach for the past five years.
Cusack guided the program for 15 seasons and decided to give up the job due to expanded duties after being named the school system’s district coordinator of special projects.Schick, who grew up playing the sport in Glen Rock, started on Glen Rock Shooting Stars travel soccer teams. He played four seasons at Western New England State University in Springfield, Mass., after graduating from GRHS.
