PARK RIDGE — Cresskill ruined Park Ridge’s dream season. Again.

Junior defensive back John Connelly intercepted a two-point conversion attempt in overtime Friday night, allowing the eighth-seeded Cougars to hold off No. 1 Park Ridge, 35-34, in the North 1, Group 1 opener at Doc Lewis Field.

It was the second time this season the Cougars beat the Owls, Park Ridge’s only two losses in an 8-2 campaign. Cresskill, a group finalist last season, will face the winner of today’s matchup between No. 5 Hasbrouck Heights and No. 4 Verona in next week’s semifinal.
