If you’re expecting any discernable drama in the North Jersey playoff races this weekend, prepare to be disappointed.

There are no win-or-go-home matchups, just some jockeying for position. The only thing worth keeping an eye on is how projected residual points shake out in some of the races.

NORTH 1, GROUP 2: Glen Rock (6-1) did not accept the forfeit against Ridgefield (which did not field a varsity team this season), so Saturday’s game against a good Garfield team has some juice.

The Panthers, who have won six straight, are tied with Mahwah atop the power points standings, and can secure the top seed with a win. If all the residual points come through, the Panthers can wind up on top even if they lose.

Hawthorne (6-1), sitting at No. 8, can avoid a first-round date with the Panthers with a win Friday night over Group 3 Palisades Park/Leonia.

NORTH 2, GROUP 2: Rutherford (7-0) also has declined to accept a Ridgefield forfeit. With a win over Lyndhurst (4-4) on Friday night, the Bulldogs can leapfrog Hanover Park for the No. 2 seed.
