ADDLE BROOK – For Waldwick it turned out to be a signature moment in the recent history of the girls basketball program. For Saddle Brook it was a great comeback that ended up just short.
Sparked by 10 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots from senior center Colleen Moran, 13th-seeded Waldwick surprised fourth-seeded Saddle Brook, 36-34, in a first-round North 1, Group 1 game Tuesday night.
Waldwick will travel to play the winner of 12th-seeded Butler at fifth-seeded Midland Park in the sectional quarterfinals Thursday night.
