EAST RUTHERFORD – A year ago, the Hasbrouck Heights girls soccer team traveled to face Becton/Wallington at McKenzie Field and came away with a lopsided 4-0 victory.
But there’s a new coach at Becton/Wallington in Wojciech Sliwinski, and basically a new roster.“I knew what the decision was last year,” Sliwinski said. “But I never had it in mind. We’re trying not to dwell on last year. We’re moving forward.”
The Wildcats took a giant step Wednesday afternoon when they battled Hasbrouck Heights to a 2-2 tie.
“I’m proud of the girls,” Sliwinski said. “They battled and did everything we asked of them. We’re not afraid to play anyone and we expect to win every game we play.”
