Glen Rock HS

The Record – Girls soccer

No. 12 Glen Rock

Last year’s record: 15-2-2

Final ranking: No. 13

Marquee game: at Pompton Lakes, Sept. 5

Best assets: Rising senior forward Caroline Taylor and rising junior forward Emma Daly were the Panthers leading scorers last year. They are expected to form a dangerous scoring trio along with midfielder Caitlin Callahan. Julia Kelly and Erin Callahan earned all-league recognition at defense last year. Their experience and continuity should help Glen Rock solidify the back.

The Panthers have experience playing in big games, which should be beneficial against the tougher opponents they’ll face in the county and state tournaments.

Biggest concern: The Panthers first order of business includes replacing standout goalie Sarah Gross. She played a big role in Glen Rock’s state championship run two years ago and her leadership will be missed.

The Panthers are also in a tough section in the state tournament, making another postseason run as hard as ever.
