EMERSON – Hasbrouck Heights and Lyndhurst swept their divisions at the NJIC Track and Field Championships at Kenneth J. Flynn Field on Tuesday.

A host of athletes led the Aviators girls to 321 points and the Meadowlands title.

The Aviators were led by Brooke McKnight, who won the high hurdles in 16.80 and the long jump with a 15-8, and medaled in the triple jump and intermediate hurdles. Teammate Stacey Porzl won the 100 (13.04) and 400 (59.85). Jillian DiGiacinto won the intermediate hurdles in 1:03.11 and medaled in the long jump. Sarah Schmitt won the high jump (4-10) and the pole vault (7-6). Felicia Cascone cleared 7-6 in the pole vault to finish second and won the 1,600 in 5:36.98.

On the boys side, Clarence Reyes paced the Aviator boys, winning hurdles events in 58.68 (intermediates) and 15.51 (shuttles). Teammate Abdallah Hammad put out an excellent distance performance, winning the 1,600 (4:39.97) and 3,200 (10:45.70). Remo medaled in the 200, both hurdles events and was part of the Aviators’ 4-x-400 win.

Lyndhurst featured Peter Guerriero on the boys’ side. Guerriero won the 100 in 11.01, the 200 in 22.75, the long jump with a 19-5 1/4 and the triple jump with a 42-2 1/4. Christopher Bekker threw a 45-11 1/2 for second place in the javelin and a 124-11 to win the discus. Lyndhurst’s boys totaled 210 points.

The Lady Golden Bears had the fewest event wins between the title winners, with Cameron Halpern (discus throw of 93-4), Amanda Fulcher (800 in 2:32.17 and intermediate hurdles in 1:11.71), Kelsie Kearns (1600 in 5:30.31) and Gabrielle Carrion (high jump of 4-8) winning events; additionally, Lyndhurst scored 201 points.
