Butler High School has lost 106 alumni, who were either killed in action or died in the service to our country.
In honor of all of these fallen heroes, they will be conducting a ceremony prior to their home football game this Friday evening.
The ceremony will consist of a reading of the names  of each of the fallen 106 alumni, followed by the playing of Taps, a 21 gun salute – and then, 3 members of the West Point Parachute Team will be jump the game ball into the stadium upon the teams entering the field.
The town is presently making plans for the construction of a new monument at the field with the names of each of 106 brave individuals. The school mascot, a Bulldog, will be perched above them.
News 12 New Jersey will be  videoing the event.  It is scheduled to be shown on their Friday Night Football telecasr at 10:30 pm.  According to the West Point jump squad, they are not aware of their team ever jumping into a high school game.
This should prove t  be a memorable evening for the community, visitors, and all of the students in attendance !
