8-Secaucus 1, 9-Paterson Charter 0

Amine Ayoub scored the only goal of the game to push eighth-seeded Secaucus to a 1-0 win over ninth-seeded Paterson Charter in the first round of the NJIC Tournament. Ayoub’s goal came in the opening half off an assist by Daniel Youn. Sean Moloughney recorded 11 saves to earn the shutout.

5-North Arlington 0, 12-New Milford 0 (North Arlington advanced in PKs 6-5)

Tony Alho made nine saves as fifth-seeded North Arlington took down 12th-seeded New Milford in PKs, 6-5, in the first round of the NJIC Tournament. The two sides were scoreless after 100 minutes of soccer.

6-Dwight-Englewood 7, 11-Palisades Park 0

Charles Asteris scored two goals to lead sixth-seeded Dwight-Englewood in a 7-0 win over 11th-seeded Palisades Park in the first round of the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Tournament. Justin Jo, Gavin Malhame, Mauricio Vivian, and Ethan Obergfall also scored in the win, while Jo (four), Malhame, Asteris, and Jake Ehrman had assists. Brian Chu made seven saves.

10-Ridgefield 2, 7-Midland Park 2 (Ridgefield advanced in PKs 4-2)

Seventh-seeded Midland Park tied 10th-seeded Ridgefield before Ridgefield won in penalty kicks in the first round of the NJIC Tournament. Ridgefield won 4-2 in the penalty shootout. Jong Hyeon Park and Gabriel Lana scored the goals in the victory, while Victor Sayde pitched in with an assist. Alex Perez made seven saves for Ridgefield.
