The North Arlington boys basketball team has won three games in a row as of last week and the Vikings want more heading into the state playoffs.

The Vikings put together one of their best games of the season on Saturday as they thoroughly thrashed Ridgefield Park, 74-52, in a Bergen Invitational Tournament game.

“It was probably the best all-around game that we have played all season,” said North Arlington head coach Rich Corsetto whose team was 15-8 as of last week. “We played very good for four quarters.”

North Arlington had five players score in double figures of the seven Vikings who scored in the victory. Junior guard Edgar Carranza led the North Arlington offense with 21 points and nine rebounds. Senior forward Jonathan Hurley added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Junior forward Steven Velez and junior guard Kevin Cerqueira added 13 points each while senior forward Jose Checo chipped in 10 points.

And it is the way that North Arlington played in the win over Ridgefield Park that Corsetto wants to see this week and into the state playoffs. “We just want to keep up the consistency that we have shown in the last three games,” said Corsetto.
