Bryan Padron scored the decisive touchdown on a 1-yard run with 2:12 to play and Sebastian Sanchez sealed the victory with an interception to give Weehawken a 33-28 victory over Emerson Boro in Emerson.

Joan Andujar, who finished with 164 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries, gave Weehawken a 7-0 lead in the first quarter with a 7-yard run. Nick Anasa improved the lead to 14-0 with a 55-yard touchdpown pass to Isaiah Abreu. Robbie Leuck ran for the first of his two touchdowns with a 47-yard carry that enabled Emerson Boro to close to within 14-7 in the first quarter.

Andujar scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter to improve Weehawken’s lead to 21-7. Lueck responded with a 21-yard scoring pass to Brian McCormick in the second quarter and then ran 2-yards in the third quarter to get Emerson Boro to within 21-20.

Andujar scored on a 2-yard carry in the fourth quarter when Weehawken opened a 27-20 advantage. Emerson Boro answered by returning the ensuing kickoff 85 yards and then ran for the two-point conversion to go ahead 28-27 before Padron scored the decisive touchdown for Weehawken.
