Wood-Ridge 26, Bogota 23:   Ali Abnousi’s 32-yard field goal in the second overtime Saturday gave Wood-Ridge a stunning 26-23 victory over Bogota, shaking up the NJIC Patriot Division standings and the North 1, Group 1 power-point race.

The win was the Blue Devils’ first of the season, snapping a five-game losing streak. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Bucs (5-1), ranked No. 22 in The Record Top 25.

Junior running back Joshua Paez ran for 125 yards and scored all three of his touchdowns in the second half as Wood-Ridge rallied to force overtime.

The Blue Devils got strong defensive efforts from Justin Baret (10 tackles, and a sack), Michael Giancaspro (eight tackles) and Joe Merlino (14 tackles).

Elmwood Park 55, Rutherford 35 (at Rutherford):  Senior quarterback Michael Dare and senior running back Sean Violante powered the Crusaders (4-2) to their third straight win in Colonial Division action.

Dare completed 10 passes for 352 yards and five touchdowns. Violante ran for 264 yards and three TDs.

Junior wide receiver Brandon Ricketts caught seven passes for 211 yards and a touchdown. Junior defensive tackle Sammy Santos had 20 tackles and three sacks.
