North Jersey produced three state champions in girls volleyball a year ago, and the prospects again are bright for teams of the Big North Conference and North Jersey Interscholastic Conference.

Repeating its unbeaten record may be a tall task for Old Tappan, but the Golden Knights return enough that they are ranked No. 1 in the Preseason North Jersey Top 20. And although Immaculate Heart was hit hard by graduation, the reigning Non-Public A champs always find a way to reload and will be right on Old Tappan’s heels.

The real excitement may come from the NJIC realignment. Five schools that won division titles (outright or shared) in 2024 – Bogota, Glen Rock, Lyndhurst, Park Ridge and Secaucus – are now together in the revamped Colonial Division
