* The leading scorers through the semifinals of the Bergen County tournament (minimum three games played): Freshman G Michelle Sidor, Saddle River Day, 25 ppg; senior F Victoria Corcoran, NV/Demarest, 19.3; senior PG Emily Crevani, NV/Old Tappan, 15.7; junior G Cedeja James, Teaneck, 14.0; senior G Milan Johnson, Teaneck, 13.7.

* Ridgefield won three games last week, and much of the Lady Royals’ success is tied into the emergence of sophomore F Jackie Lara and freshman G Marilyn Grandov. Both averaged 10 points last week and are playing solid defense.

* The Hudson County tournament was seeded last week, and North Bergen was fourth with a bye into the quarterfinals. Secaucus is seeded fifth, and if the Patriots beat St. Dominic on Wednesday, they’ll face North Bergen on Saturday.

* Emerson (15-5) won three games last week, advancing to the NJIC tournament title game. Coach Colleen Vogel is raving about the leadership of Lysa Cangialosi, the lone senior and captain, calling her “the glue that holds the Cavos together.”

* It’s been a rebuilding season for Dwight-Englewood, but coach Marissa Moore is high on junior PG Regan Contrucci and sophomore G Maddy Kachikian. Contrucci has been a steadying influence for a group that includes five freshmen, and the 5-foot-3 Kachikian is a defensive standout who leads the team in rebounds.

* Park Ridge has six wins – doubling last season’s total. A big reason for that progress is gritty junior Haley Raspanti. She’s transitioned from small forward to point guard and is impressing with her leadership skills. She is averaging nine points and three steals.

* Garfield has qualified for the state tournament for the first time since 2011. Sophomore F Shamani Butts (12 ppg, 8 rpg) has been the Boilermakers’ most consistent player, but junior G Alizette Soto has averaged 20 points and six assists over the past three games.

* Keep an eye on Waldwick sophomore F Jessica Turner, who is emerging as a strong inside defensive player. Turner blocked two shots last season, but has 50 blocks in 21 games this season.
