RUTHERFORD – Kevin Kosakowski led the way. But he certainly got a great deal of help from Tom Reid, Billy Finn, Laris Mulic, Sebastian Medina and company.
Kosakowski, Rutherford’s outstanding senior tailback, rushed for 200 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs past Lodi, 47-0, in an NJIC Colonial Division game Friday night at Tryon Field.
Also making a big impact for Rutherford (2-0), which piled up over 370 yards of total offense in the first half before most of the starters were pulled with a 41-0 at the break, were senior quarterback Reid, senior split end Mulic, junior halfback Finn and senior fullback Medina.
Reid completed 4-of-9 passes for 69 yards and a pair of touchdown passes as he also ran for 38 yards on five attempts. Mulic had three receptions for 42 yards and had a touchdown catch and Finn had eight carries for 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and he also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Reid. Medina made some critical blocks and also rushed for 36 yards on six attempts.
