NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE

Star Ledger Boys Soccer Players of the Week

Field player: Andrew Armstrong, Pompton Lakes

One of Passaic County’s, the NJIC’s and the state’s best scorers so far this year, Armstrong had a monster week for the Cardinals as they went 3-0. Armstrong notched 10 goals in three games, with hat tricks against Hawthorne and Wallington and four goals against Butler. He now has 12 goals on the season and 63 for his career. — Jake Aferiat

Goalkeeper: Axel Da Silva, Waldwick

Waldwick has righted the ship after losing to Rutherford on Opening Day and Da Silva’s play in net has been a big reason why. Da Silva had two shutouts last week, including a big one against Park Ridge in a 1-0 win for the Warriors. He made 13 saves across the two shutouts and has 15 saves and three shutouts on the season. — Jake Aferiat
