When you’ve scored 57 goals and counting in a season, you’re bound to mix in some deftly placed chips, acrobatic side volleys and net-rippling rockets. But some of Taylor Krakower’s favorite shots have been taken with her Nikon. The Dwight-Englewood junior says photography is a calming influence and creative outlet in her life. In her room, many of the photos are mounted on the walls. In school, one of her favorite classes is Photography II. Outside of school, you might find her taking photos of trees on an autumn afternoon or shooting her younger sister during a soccer practice. In fact, one photo she took of Madison at the moment she was about to strike a ball was so vivid, the Krakowers had to display it in their family room in their home in Wayne. “She had the perfect form on the shot,” said Krakower, The Record Female Athlete of the Week. “Imagine if you look at the picture, you can remember exactly what happened. So it has significance to me and I just love that picture.” Krakower’s five-goal, three-assist performance last week was a snapshot in a brilliant season. After scoring two goals in a 4-0 victory over Hawthorne Christian on Tuesday, the state’s leading scorer added three more in an 8-0 win over Ridgefield on Thursday.
