EAST RUTHERFORD – Park Ridge now stands at the doorstep of a division title and possible No. 1 seed for the state football playoffs.
The Owls’ 32-0 victory over Becton on Friday night places them in position to earn no worse than a share of the NJIC Meadowlands Division title and no less than the No. 2 seed in North 1, Group 1.
“We set goals at the beginning of the year to challenge for a league title, to make the state playoffs, and possibly challenge for a state championship,” said Park Ridge coach Tom Curry Jr., “and they keep adding goals each and every single week – it’s great.”
Park Ridge (6-1) can reach its goal of a Meadowlands title and likely two home playoff games with a home victory Friday over Secaucus. The Owls are tied for first in the Meadowlands with Hasbrouck Heights.
