* Five NJIC teams have applied for the Bergen County tournament: Queen of Peace, Midland Park, Rutherford, Glen Rock and Saddle Brook. Immaculate Conception and Saddle River Day also have applied, but are classified as independents.

* Emerson picked up three wins last week to improve to 7-3. Junior G Devin Riker averaged 15 points, sophomore G Carly Petrower 14.7 and junior G Nadia Itani 7.3. Sophomore C Jenna Cooper was strong in the paint, and averaged 13.7 points and 11 rebounds.

* Freshman G Amanda Ulrich averaged 13 points in two games last week for Secaucus. In a win over Harrison, she had eight steals and four assists. Sophomore F Lindsey Mack averaged 18 points and hit six three-pointers.

* Dani McMahon had an outstanding performance Sunday in Saddle River Day’s loss to Rumson-Fair Haven, as the senior G scored 17 points with four three-pointers, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

* Midland Park displayed a balanced scoring attack in a win over Cresskill, with senior G Julie Carey scoring 15 points (including three three-pointers), sophomore F Sofia Hansen scoring 13 and senior F Thalia Ghalam adding 13 points and 11 rebounds.

* Eastern Christian picked up two victories last week to improve to 6-2, with sophomore F Addie Peretti and freshman F Madison Wynbeek each averaging 13.5 points.

* Sophomore F Shamoni Butts had a nice performance in Garfield’s win over Pompton Lakes, scoring 20 points and adding 12 rebounds and six steals.

* Lyndhurst received a big performance from Joanne Arvanitakis in a win over Dwight-Englewood. The senior G scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range.

* Senior G Stacey Porzl scored 14 points and had seven steals for Hasbrouck Heights in its win over previously unbeaten Saddle Brook.

* New Milford picked up three victories last week to improve to 9-1. Junior G Natalie Miller is averaging 12.5 points, junior Esmeralda Reyes is averaging 9.4 and junior Vianca Soriano is averaging 8.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 steals.

* Sophomore C Jessica Turner scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Waldwick’s win over Park Ridge. Senior F Ashley Tarabocchia added 14 rebounds and four points.

* Immaculate Conception lost by 10 Sunday night to National Christian Academy of Maryland, a team ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation. Senior F Jasmine Gee (14 points, eight rebounds per game), junior G Breanne Bellerand (11, 6.5) and sophomore G Jordan McLemore (seven points) have provided strong performances for the Blue Wolves.
