Stan Woods, Emerson/Park Ridge
Stan Woods hit the majestic 700-win career mark. Then he just kept on going.
The man at the helm of Bergen County’s dominant small-school wrestling program for almost a half-century, Emerson/Park Ridge’s Woods continues to inspire and energize his team.
The Cavos went 23-2 this season, becoming the first public school program in North Jersey to win a state team tournament championship. Already the all-time New Jersey leader in wins, Woods is now 704-219-9, which includes 49 seasons at Emerson/Park Ridge (21 years when Emerson was not a co-op program) and two at Randolph.
