Hasbrouck Heights

When you run as fast as Jillian DiGiacinto, life probably passes like a blur.

Even just last week, the Hasbrouck Heights senior went undefeated in seven events, including relay races.

DiGiacinto started off by winning three events in a dual meet with Saddle Brook on Thursday.

On Saturday, she helped the Aviators win the girls team title at the Lyndhurst Relays. She was named the meet’s outstanding track performer after she anchored the meet-record-setting sprint medley team, then helped set another meet record in the 400 hurdles.

The races were over in a matter of minutes, but The Record Female Athlete of the Week hopes to preserve the memories for years to come.

DiGiacinto assembles newspaper articles, pictures and other mementos of her exploits on the track into a scrapbook. She has one for each season going back to her freshman year. She says they’re snapshots of happy moments with her teammates, coaches and family, including her sister Jenna (Class of 2014) and her twin brother Jason.
