Taryn DiGiacomo couldn’t take her turns at bat for most of last spring after injuring her right quad.

“It was very frustrating because after coming out of pitching all those innings and then wanting to go up to the plate, I couldn’t,” the Saddle Brook senior said.

“And with my team being able to hit, but me not being able to, it was pretty frustrating.

“But I guess I saved it all for this year.”

The Record Female Athlete of the Week went 11-for-13 with three doubles, eight RBI, six stolen bases and 12 runs, and capped the seven-day stretch by recording the 100th hit of her career in the first inning of Saturday’s 8-0 victory over Ramapo.
