Boys Basketball Players of the Week

Edward Burgos, Harrison, Jr.

Burgos played a leading role for Harrison last week, averaging 17 points per game. In a close loss to New Milford, the junior came through with 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals. He also had 17 points in a game against Ridgefield.

Gabe Gnecco, Butler, Sr.

Butler picked up a pair of wins over Lyndhurst last week. In the first game, Gnecco scored a season-high 31 points. The senior did most of his damage in the paint, scoring 14 baskets. In the rematch, Gnecco scored 15 points in a 57-52 win.

Christian Molina, Garfield, Sr.

Molina scored 18 points for Garfield in a 46-44 win over Bergfield in the opening round of the Bergen County Invitational. That was the senior’s best game of the season since scoring 25 points in a one-score win over Manchester Regional.

Jordan Rodriguez, Lodi, Sr.

Rodriguez has been electric in the month of February. The senior delivered with 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 73-70 win over Pompton Lakes. Rodriguez also had 19 points and eight rebounds in a win over Manchester Regional. Ermal Kuci was also awesome in that game against Pompton Lakes, coming through with 13 points and 20 rebounds.

 

Josh Rodriguez, Hasbrouck Heights, Fr.

The rookie has stepped in and been a playmaker right away for Hasbrouck Heights. Rodriguez came up with a pair of double-doubles last week. He started with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Weehawken and then added 23 points and 15 rebounds vs. Wood-Ridge.
