North Jersey Interscholastic Conference
GIRLS SOCCER / DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Defender: Hanao Nakamoto, Waldwick, Sr.
The Colgate commit is going to be a key leader all year for Waldwick as it looks to retool and put together another great season. The defense has held up so far, allowing just one goal in the first three games. Waldwick held on for dear life in an overtime game with Saddle River Day. Abby Incorvaia scored both goals in that 2-1 victory.
Goalkeeper: Kaylee Ferrara, Pompton Lakes, So.
Ferrara has settled in nicely to the starting spot in net, allowing just one goal in the first week. The sophomore made six saves in the opener and then has combined to stop 12 shots in back-to-back shutouts. The gem of the year far is a nine-save effort in a 1-0 win over Butler.
