North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week

David Adamson, Garfield, Jr., RB/LB

A two-way standout for Boilermakers, Adamson was integral in their 19-12 win over Saddle Brook on Saturday. The 6-foot, 180-pound junior was good for 20 tackles (10 solo), four tackles for loss and a sack on defense while adding two catches for 21 yards and a score offensively. He pitched also into the victory with three carries for 15 yards.

Braden Negro, Wood-Ridge, Sr., QB/DB

Negro continues to have a strong season for Wood-Ridge, leading the Blue Devils to the NJIC championship game after he amassed 248 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in a 21-14 overtime win over Waldwick in the semifinals. He threw for 127 yards and a score and ran for 121 yards and two scores, including the eventual game-winning 1-yard touchdown run in overtime. He also chipped in with eight tackles on defense.

Jalen Powell, Becton, Jr., RB

Powell was the bell cow for Becton in its 28-7 win over Pompton Lakes. Powell had 25 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and found the end zone twice in the fourth
