Damian Weaver, Lyndhurst/North Arlington, Sr., 157
Weaver won the 157-pound championship at the Bergen County Tournament. The senior was the tournament’s champion at 150 pounds last season and this year’s path was tough as well. He decisioned Westwood’s Gavin Seiler 7-1 in the final bout after decisioning Bergen Catholic’s Jayden Iznaga, 5-2, in the semifinals. He won by technical fall over Teaneck’s Jeremiah Harmitt (16-1, 2:00) after getting through the Round of 16 via a bye. Weaver was the bracket’s top seed.
