North Jersey Interscholastic Conference

Forward: Sophia Lara, Hasbrouck Heights, Sr.

Just like last year, Lara has been lighting up the scoreboard this season, much to the discontent of opposing NJIC defenses. Every team know that she’s a focal point of Hasbrouck Heights’ offense, but Lara has found a way to remain a dynamic scorer. She registered six goals this past week, as Hasbrouck Heights easily defeated Westwood and Wood-Ridge and narrowly lost to Waldwick in overtime. Her footwork, vision, and soccer IQ make her one of the best players in the conference.

Midfielder: Hailey Scocco, Harrison, Jr.

Scocco has received significant varsity minutes this fall and she’s making the most of the opportunity. The junior midfielder has 13 goals and one assist this year, becoming the go-to scorer for the team that struggled to put up goals last season. After scoring a hat-trick against Ridgefield on Friday, she followed that up with a five-goal performance against Dickinson the next day.
