The state’s leading scorer, Armstrong found the back of the net 37 times this year, a feat that’s amplified by the fact his team got knocked out in the North 1, Group 2 quarterfinals and gave some of the state’s other top scorers a chance to catch him, though none did. Playing Division I soccer at Dayton, Armstrong scored in 16 of Pompton Lakes’ 19 games with 13 multi-goal games this season as he set the Pompton Lakes single season and career scoring records in the process as well.
