Rhys Bowie, Dwight-Englewood, Sr., OF/P
The Wake Forest commit recorded the 200th strikeout of his career on April 30 against Rutherford. In the win, he fired eight strikeouts in four scoreless innings. On the mound this season, Bowie has 55 strikeouts in 25 frames with an 0.56 ERA. In the county opener against Lyndhurst, he threw one scoreless relief inning, but did his damage at the plate. Bowie went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. He is a .500 hitter (20-for-40) with 15 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 2024.
Connor Detrick, Midland Park, Jr., P
On May 4, Detrick tossed a complete-game for 18-Midland Park in the 2-1 victory over 15-Ridgefield Park in the opening round of the Bergen County Tournament. He surrendered just one run in the upset and lowered his season ERA to 1.77 in 31 2/3 innings.
Adam Lopez, St. Mary (Ruth.), Sr., P
Lopez was nails in the Bergen County Tournament opener. He fired a complete-game shutout over Fair Lawn on May 4 in the 2-0 win. He struck out eight batters and surrendered four hits. In 21 2/3 innings this season, he has 31 punch-outs and a 1.29 earned average.
