PJ Coffey, Butler, Sr., WR/DB

It didn’t take Coffey long to assert his role for the Bulldogs in a 47-0 road win over Hawthorne on Friday. The senior generated 61 yards and two touchdowns on four receptions and added five carries for 18 yards and two more scores. Coffey also contributed on defense with an interception.

Will Cusick, Cresskill-Emerson Boro, Sr., RB/DB

Cusick ran for 187 yards and five touchdowns on 15 carries in the Cougars’ 40-7 win over Palisades Park-Leonia on Friday in Palisades Park. Cusick’s five scores all came in the first half with his fifth touchdown coming from 49 yards out.

Ryan Natoli, Waldwick, Sr., RB/DB

Natoli helped Waldwick open the season with an impressive 32-20 win over Rutherford, rushing for a game-high 205 yards and two touchdowns, while catching three passes for 46 yards. The win snapped Rutherford’s 23-game regular-season winning streak against NJIC opponents. Natoli also helped first-year coach Dan DiStasi pick up his first career victory.

Luis Placido, New Milford, Sr., WR/DB

Placido scored three touchdowns for the Knights in their 26-14 win over Hasbrouck Heights on Friday in New Milford. The 5-10, 155-pounder produced seven catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns to go with five rushes for 10 yards and a score. He also added three tackles and an interception on defense with two kick returns for 39 yards.
